Ange signing reveals ‘one of the best players’ in the PL texted him after Tottenham transfer

Lucas Bergvall has revealed that Son Heung-min texted him after his move to Tottenham.

Lucas Bergvall’s impressive rise at Swedish club Djurgardens resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe. Multiple top clubs were keen on acquiring his services but Tottenham managed to beat the competition to his signature and following his move to the North London club, the Swedish sensation received a text from South Korean superstar Son Heung-min.

Bergvall said to Football London: “Son texted me after I accepted Spurs bid, it was crazy. I’m from Sweden! He’s one of the best players in the Premier League and a real legend”.  

“It was really kind of him because he was at the Asian Cup, he’s nice”.

Bergvall was surprised to receive a text from the Premier League legend who was on international duty during that time. Son was playing in the Asia Cup when the teenage midfielder agreed to join Tottenham.

He thought it was a kind gesture from the South Korean international to reach out to him.

The 18-year-old who came up the ranks at Brommapojkarna made the move to Djurgardens at the start of 2023. It didn’t take him long to establish himself in their first team and his performances resulted in interest from some of the biggest clubs. Barcelona were one of the clubs who were keen on adding the midfield sensation to their ranks during the winter transfer window.

The Catalan giants were involved in a transfer tussle with Tottenham Hotspur. Ange Postecoglou’s team managed to get the better of the Spanish club in the pursuit.

While they did agree on a transfer back in February, the player will make the move to the North London club in the summer and it will be interesting to what role he is offered at his new club.
