‘I can’t answer tonight’ – Reporter tests Ten Hag on his Manchester United future

Erik ten Hag was tested on his future at Manchester United following his team’s 3-2 win over Newcastle in the Premier League.

Goals from Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund secured the three points on the night as United remain eighth in the league table.

The result should help give the team a boost ahead of the FA Cup final and it means we’re no longer on a losing run.

However, like vultures, these reporters won’t give up once they smell blood. They know that recent results don’t reflect well on the current manager and since there’s talk of being replaced – in the media at least – they’re going to make sure they stick the knife in.

The Sky Sports reporter in question asked Ten Hag what he could potentially do with his squad if he remains manager over the summer.

Ten Hag told Sky Sports: “That is… I can’t answer this question, because it’s a very long answer. I don’t think this is the right moment to talk about this. I have to talk about [the] next game, and after that, a huge game is coming, a huge achievement.”

The manager was then asked how tough he has found his second season in charge.

“It’s tough, but I see the positives,” Ten Hag added. “I see that this team is developing. I know the reasons why this team is not performing, no one would be able to perform. We have had our problems, you see players performing and you see players progressing. There is high potential in this club.”
